December Delights

Every year, this season tends to be something beyond special. December is like the Friday of months, and it has many things that cause you to feel the magic of the moment. Peppermint lattes, Christmas lights, holiday parties, shopping, even the enchanting fog and the crisp cold mornings with the car frozen over. December is full of wonderful delights, and if you’re like me, I am always willing to travel to find more to experience. Enter Auburn. To be honest, the wind may not blow, and it might not even snow, but there's nothing like Christmas right at home in this hub for the holidays.

Festival of Trees: White River Museum | November 15th - December 30th, 2023 | 12pm-4pm | Wednesday - Sunday

Even if you take away the presents, you still would have a tree. Which means your journey for holiday fun begins with a visit to the White River Museum, where the Festival of Trees casts a spell of holiday enchantment. Truly a gift God wrapped in green. Get lit as you walk through the museum, which is filled with creatively decorated Christmas trees, each one showing a unique side of Auburn and its incredible businesses. Featuring amazing trees from trusted organizations like A Little Knitty, Gosanko Chocolate, Sea Axe, and Dave and Busters. From traditional themes to innovative displays inspired by the region's natural beauty, the Festival of Trees is real eye candy that indulges visitors in the beauty of the season.

Lighted Santa Parade: City of Auburn Main Street | December 2nd, 2023 | 2pm-6pm

It may not be white, and it might be a rainy night, but there's nothing like sharing the sounds and the sights of Auburn’s Lighted Santa Parade. With a full day of fun, the party begins at the Postmark Center for the Arts for two holiday art workshops. Choose from three activities like reindeer handprint ornaments, pop-up Christmas cards, and 3D snowflakes. By the time your holiday artisanship is completed, the festivities begin with live music and dozens of creative parade entries adorned with twinkling lights and holiday characters filling Main Street with cheer. This parade is one gift you won’t want to exchange. Conclude this magical moment by joining the local community at City Hall for the grand Tree Lighting Ceremony. Watch Santa, who gets a little help from the 2023 Official Tree Lighting Winner | 7-year-old Lucas Fernandez & City of Auburn Mayor Nancy Backus, as they illuminate the huge tree, officially marking the start of the holiday season. This special event is a gift we all can share.

Santa Photos: Outlet Collection Mall | November 17th - December 24th | RSVP

Continue your festive journey by gathering those you love for photos with Santa at the Outlet Collection Mall. Whether you have been good all year or all week, this is your moment to let Santa know to just leave his credit card under the tree this year. The fun atmosphere, festive decorations, and Santa's jolly presence create the perfect backdrop for a special picture that tells the story of the gift of living. While you may need Santa to define nice, these amazing photos don’t need no definition.
