Lodging Tax Tourism Enrichment Grant
Explore Auburn provides lodging tax grant funding to support projects and events that attract visitors to Auburn, encourage overnight stays, and strengthen Auburn’s tourism economy. Lodging tax funds may be used for eligible tourism promotion and tourism related activities.
Grant applications for 2027 funding are due no later than:

About the Program
Lodging tax funding is intended to support activities that attract visitors to Auburn, encourage overnight stays, and generate economic benefits for the community.
Eligible uses include tourism promotion and activities designed to increase tourism, such as advertising, publicizing, and marketing special events and festivals that attract visitors to Auburn.
Funded projects should help strengthen Auburn’s tourism economy through increased overnight lodging, dining, shopping, and other visitor spending, while increasing recognition of Auburn as a tourism destination.
Organizations receiving lodging tax funding are required to submit a report at the end of the calendar year. Reporting includes overall attendance, visitors traveling more than 50 miles, out-of-state and international visitors, overnight lodging stays, and paid lodging nights. Applicants should also identify the method used to determine attendance and visitor estimates.
Application Process
Fully filled-out applications may be submitted by any organization, group, or business interested in promoting tourism in Auburn.
Selected applicants may be invited to provide an oral presentation to the Auburn Tourism Board.
Monies are contingent upon the recipient completing a post-event report that documents how many overnight visitors and travelers outside a 50-mile radius the event brought to the City of Auburn. Post-event report is due within two weeks after the event date.
