Spring Into Fun!
Nothing says spring is on the way more than the birds chirping and flowers blooming. There is no better place to take in the beauty of a PNW spring than right here in Auburn, Washington. Here are three awesome ideas to make sure you Spring into a fun-filled season.
Go Green
With days getting longer and warmer, we are all looking for opportunities to get out and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while trying to find the end of the rainbow. Soos Creek Botanical Garden and Heritage Center pairs the experience of strolling amid inspirational, mature gardens with fascinating local history. While they may not have the shamrock you are looking for, they do have 23 acres on which the garden is located, dating back to 1891 when it was acquired by Norwegian immigrants, featuring plants from Kyoto, Japan, England as well as many Pacific Northwest specialty nurseries. The Heritage Center is devoted to the history of the early settlers of the 70 square-mile area called the Soos Creek Plateau. An extensive collection of early photos, historical maps and artifacts of the ancestors of the region is on display. This is a local pot of gold that proves you don’t always have to recycle to enjoy going green. Unfortunately rainbows are not included.
Irish Spirits
PSA this is like your last chance for a drinking holiday until Cinco De Mayo. So don’t pout have a stout at Auburn’s Irish Pub Oddfellas. There is a reason this is where the leprechauns get a drink. With 24 beers and ciders on tap including Slane’s Irish Red Ale, Quilter’s Irish Death, and the incredible Harp Premium Lager. These all pair amazingly well with their famous Corn Beef & Cabbage or Irish Nachos. Everything is super affordable so you don’t have to spend a fortune. This place is like a four leaf clover. Hard to find and lucky to have. So a word to the wise, plan ahead and make Oddfellas your meet up spot that way you don’t have to worry about Siri being able to decipher your slurred requests for a bar on St. Patrick’s Day.
