Auburn's Mardi Gras

AuBURN's Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras aka Fat Tuesday falls on February 13th  this year. The actual date varies year to year depending when Easter occurs.  While Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans are well known for colorful floats, beads, and vibrant traditions, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is also known as Carnival in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

With two Auburn businesses whose owners hail from NOLA and with several other local businesses following suit, you can expect the delicious flavors of Creole and Cajun cuisine, live music, and entertainment to make it a fun time for all!  Here is an overview of the festive happenings:

The weekend leading up to Geaux’s official Grand Opening on Tuesday will be filled with exciting events.

Saturday, February 10th  is a Kickoff party in the parking lot from Noon – 7PM with a beer and cocktail garden, games, and live music.

Sunday, February 11th is a continuation of Saturday’s Mardi Gras revelry complete with Family Day events such as a bouncy house, face painting, arts and crafts for the kids. Noon - 6PM.
