The Longacres Mile dates back to 1933 when first held at the racetrack called Longacres in Renton. The founder of Longacres – Joe Gottstein wanted a premier race in the Northwest. The 1933 race had an unheard of purse of $10,000.
So today is about the history of racing in Western Washington as horse facing fans come from all over every year to watch and wager on OUR biggest stakes race on the calendar.
Simply known as The Mile. The long anticipated, race in which Defending champion Point Piper heads a list of 16 older horses nominated to the $200,000 Longacres Mile. Who will win the big bucks?
Cost: Admission is $9 per adult, visitors 17 years and under are free. With a Military I.D., admission is free.
Premium Parking Day: Parking in the General Area is free, $15 to park in the Preferred Area, or $20 for valet parking.
